About UsSt. Luke's United Methodist Church has an active membership of approximately 300 people from Rochester Hills and surrounding communities. We are a racially and ethnically mixed congregation consisting of persons from many areas of the United States and other countries. Our HistorySt. Luke’s United Methodist Church was established in northeast Pontiac in 1934. The congregation moved to its present location on Walton Blvd. across from Oakland University in 1964. The original church building at our current location in Rochester Hills comprised what is now our Fellowship Hall (essentially the middle part of the building). The present worship space, offices and gathering area were built in 1995. The education wing was built in 1998. In December 1998, St. Luke's merged with Rochester Hills First United Methodist Church. Rochester Hills First United Methodist was established in 1931 as the Elmwood Community Methodist Episcopal Church. Its first building was on Grant Street. Its second location was on Crooks (just south of M-59). In 1984, the church moved to Adams Road.
